FAQs
What does blue pea tea taste like?
Mild, earthy and slightly woody. It has no bitterness, so it pairs well with honey, lemon, ginger or mint.
Does it contain caffeine?
No. Butterfly blue pea is naturally caffeine-free, so you can drink it any time of day.
How many flowers should I use?
3–5 dried flowers per cup (250 ml), never more than 5. For a stronger cup, steep a little longer.
Why did my tea turn purple?
The natural anthocyanins in the flowers react to acid. Add lemon or lime and the tea changes from deep blue to violet.
Can I use it for drinks and cocktails?
Yes. Brew it strong, let it cool and pour over ice for mojitos, lemonades, mocktails and cocktails.
How should I store it?
Keep the pouch sealed, in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
Is it safe for everyone?
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid it or consult a doctor. People allergic to legumes should take care, and it may lower blood pressure slightly, so check with your doctor if you take blood-pressure medicine.
